Attractions in Cocoa Beach, Florida
Cocoa Beach, Florida is situated next to the Atlantic Coast, and it is less than 85 km east to Disney World. It is an hour drive to reach this beach from the Orlando amusement park. Cocoa Beach is the closest beach to all the Orlando amusement attractions like Universal Studios, Disney World and Sea World. If you travel south from Cocoa Beach, you can reach Melbourne City, and if you travel to north you can reach Cape Carnival.Most of the travelers who visit Orlando amusement park prefers to have a drive over 165km west to the Gulf Coast beaches at Clearwater rather than these nearby Atlantic beaches. Comparing to Atlantic beaches, the west coast beaches are more beautiful with it’s very nice with their warm Gulf of Mexico water, soft sands, and many more tourist attractions.
Less crowded beaches with surf
Comparing to the waters in the Gulf of Mexico, Atlantic Ocean Waters are cooler. It is warm enough to have a pleasant swim in the summer months. On the Gulf of Mexico the beaches in the western side are very petty, it provides safe swimming atmosphere for children. But it is not advisable for surfing. The population of Cocoa Beach, Melbourne and Cape Carnival is basically occupied with retired families and the workers of NASA Space launch station. You can find some motels, hotels and holiday rental houses for tourists, but those are not famous. If you travel south through Melbourne, you can find thirty mile long sandy beach, which are normally visited by Florida residents with only small amount of tourists.
