Update (2:13 PM CT – June 22, 2010) United, Delta, American, Continental, JetBlue, AirTran, Frontier, and Alaska  have matched Southwest Airlines’ fall sale fares. Judge it or not, Southwest Airlines has just turned 39 – and in honor of this huge birthday, the low cost carrier is donation flights to select cities for as small as $39+ all way. This sale is excellent for travel only from Sept. 8 through Nov. 17, and you must book by June 24 (more details are available on Southwest’s website ). Even better: check out Rick Seaney’s special analysis of this sale – he clarifies just how excellent these deals are , and how much you’ll save depending on how far you glide.

Delta Air Lines has a sale on flights from New York’s JFK to numerous cities in Europe, including flights to Dublin for nearly $900 roundtrip (which doesn’t signal fantastic compared to last year, but it is a deal for this summer).
